Spanish painter and watercolourist, who cultivated gender and religious themes. He was Professor of colouring and composition, as well as director, of the Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos. He also served as director of the School of Fine Arts of Valencia. He died on 7 July 1939, aged 72.Sy Scholfield cites birth record quoted in Archivo de arte valenciano, Vol. 36-38 (1965), p. 29: "En la parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, de Enguera, y en el Libro de Bautismos de 1867, fol. 173 v., aparece la partida núm. 85, que dice asi: «En la Villa de Enguera, Provincia de Valencia, día veinte de marzo de mil ochocientos sesenta y siete, el infrafirmado Vicario de esta Parroquia bautizó solemnemente a Isidoro, nacido hoy a la una de la mañana, hijo legitimo de Manuel Garnelo y de Teresa Fillol..."
