Vedic Horoscope for Bertram, Ernst

German writer and professor of German literature in Cologne from 1922 until 1946, when he was dismissed in the process of denazification. He was a poet of some distinction who followed in the footsteps of Stefan George. His principal poetic publications are Gedichte (1913), Wartburg (1933), Griecheneiland (1934), and Die Fenster von Chartres (1940). He wrote scholarly works on Nietzsche, Stifter, and H. von Kleist among others. To Bertram's credit it should be said that he privately protested against the ceremonial burning of the works of Thomas Mann and F. Gundolf in 1933, although he clearly acclaimed it in public verses.
