Vedic Horoscope for Farnese, Alessandro
Italian cardinal and diplomat and a great collector and patron of the arts. He is remembered for gathering the greatest collection of Roman sculpture assembled in private hands since Antiquity. He was the grandson of Pope Paul III (who also bore the name Alessandro Farnese), and the son of Pier Luigi Farnese, Duke of Parma. He died on 2 March 1589.Sy Scholfield quotes "Caprarola's Sala della Cosmografia" by Mary Quinlan-McGrath, Renaissance Quarterly (New York), Winter 1997, Vol.50, Iss. 4, p. 1045: "One should read [Francesco] Giuntini's Speculum astrologiae, 1573, a publication contemporaneous with the decoration of this hall. There Alessandro Farnese's birth is recorded as '7 octobris, 1520, 1:00 p.m.' It only serves to corroborate the authenticity of [Luca] Gaurico's '7 octobris, 1520 1:01 p.m.' The birth times are only one minute apart, and it is probable from Giuntini's context that he has rounded that minute off."
