Vedic Horoscope for Braille, Louis

French blind organist who invented a transcription system for the blind in 1824. The system consisted of a code of small raised dots that could be felt on paper. The code was adopted at once by his fellow blind students, but the system was not officially accepted during his 20 years of teaching the blind. "Braille" eventually won universal acceptance. In September 2007 Sy Scholfield finds the same data in the biography citing birth record: "The New Outlook for the Blind" (American Foundation for the Blind, 1976), p. 65: "The fourth of January, 1809, was a day of happiness for the Braille family. ... At four o'clock in the morning, a small, puny creature with flabby, wrinkled skin was born, and, for some time, it was thought he would not live. ... [The] deputy mayor of the town, wrote in the official register: 'In the year one thousand eight hundred and nine, on the fifth of January, at ten o'clock in the morning, before us ... Appeared Simon René Braille, aged forty-four, harness-maker, living in Coupvray, who presented to us a a child of the male sex, born yesterday at four o'clock in the morning, son of himself and his wife, Monique Baron.'"
