Vedic Horoscope for Borromeo, Carlo
Cardinal archbishop of Milan from 12 May 1564 until his death on 3 November 1584. Among the great reformers of the troubled sixteenth century, Borromeo, with St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Philip Neri, and others, led the movement to combat the inroads of the Protestant Reformation. He was a leading figure during the Counter-Reformation and was responsible for significant reforms in the Catholic Church, including the founding of seminaries for the education of priests. He is honoured as a saint in the Catholic Church and his feast day is 4 November.Sy Scholfield quotes "The Life of St. Charles Borromeo, Cardinal Archbishop of Milan" by Giovanni Pietro Giussano (New York: Burns and Oates, 1884), p. 5: "The birth of the saint was heralded by a miraculous appearance of brilliant light in the heavens, which lasted from two o'clock in the morning, the time of his birth, until daybreak. This circumstance was confirmed on oath by five eye-witnesses in the process of his canonization."
