Vedic Horoscope for Bertrand, Arthur
French writer, the son of General Henri-Gatien, Comte Bertrand (1773–1844), one of Napoleon Bonaparte's last allies. Arthur Bertrand wrote the book, Lettres sur L’Expédition de Sainte-Hélène en 1840 (Paris, 1841) about his journey with his father to St. Helena to collect Napoleon’s remains which they returned to Paris. Bertrand is known for his affairs with French actresses Elisabeth Rachel Félix, also known as Mademoiselle Rachel (1821-1858) and Virginie Déjazet (1798-1875). He died on 6 March 1871 at Châteauroux, aged 54.Sy Scholfield cites father's journal quoted in Cahiers de Sainte-Hélène: journal 1816-1817 - Volume 1 by Henri-Gratien Bertrand (comte) and Paul Fleuriot de Langle (Sulliver, 1951), p. 184: "17 janvier. — A 3 heures du matin, Mme Bertrand sent quelques douleurs ; à 3 heures et demie, envoie chercher Poppleton ; à 5 heures on fait partir un ordonnance, un palfrenier et deux chevaux por aller chercher l'accoucheur et la garde. Ils arrivent à 7 heures. A 1 heure, les doleurs sont vives. A 2 heures et demie Mme Bertrand accouche d'un garçon."
