American journalist and columnist who won his first Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary for his Observer columns (1979) and the second one for his autobiography, Growing Up (1982). He syndicated a national humour column as the resident wit of the New York times in 1963. His literary essays are in touch with today, as well as with his 30 years of experience.Autobiography, "Growing Up," pp. 30. He published a second memoir, "The Good Times," 1989.
