Vedic Horoscope for Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex
British royalty, the sixth son of George III of the United Kingdom and his consort, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. He was the only surviving son of George III who did not pursue an army or naval career. Sy Scholfield quotes "The Monthly Chronologer," London magazine, or, Gentleman's monthly intelligencer, January 1773, p. 48: "Wednesday 27. This morning, about five o'clock, the Queen was taken in labour . . . her majesty was safely delivered of a prince, about ten minutes before six . . . At noon the Park and Tower guns were fired on the occasion." Scholfield quotes a biography for a different time of birth, no source given: "An Illustration of the Liturgy of the Church of England" by Thomas Pruen (Rivington, 1820), p. 120: "HRH Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex, their Majesties sixth son, and ninth child, was born on the 27th January, 1773, at 5 o'clock in the morning."
