Sy Scholfield quotes from "Carlos VII y Su Tiempo: Leyenda y Realidad" by Jaime del Burgo Torres (Gobierno de Navarra, Departamento de Educación y Cultura, 1994), p. 46: "El infante Juan y la archiduquesa María Beatriz quedaron en Londres, donde a las cinco y media de la mañana del día 12 de septiembre de 1849, la archiduquesa dio a luz un niño, a quien se impusieron los nombres de Alfonso, Carlos, Fernando, Juan y José, y sería más tarde conocido como Alfonso Carlos de Borbón y Austria-Este."
