King of Bohemia by inheritance (as Wenceslaus IV) from 1363 and by election, German King (formally King of the Romans) from 1376. He was the third Bohemian and third German monarch of the Luxembourg dynasty. Wenceslaus was deposed in 1400 as King of the Romans, but continued to rule as Bohemian king until his death on 16 August 1419. Sy Scholfield quotes from the German book "Imprimatur: Ein Jahrbuch Für Bücherfreunde, Volume 10" (Im Verlag der Gesellschaft der Bibliophilen, 1982), p. 57: "Es war 9 Uhr, als am 26. Februar 1361 Wenzel als ältester Sohn Karls IV. und seiner dritten Gemahlin Anna von Schweidnitz in Nürnberg geboren wurde."
