Vedic Horoscope for Sirhindi, Ahmad
Indian Islamic scholar from Punjab, a Hanafi jurist, and a prominent member of the Naqshbandī Sufi order. He is described as Mujaddid Alf Thānī, meaning the "reviver of the second millennium", for his work in rejuvenating Islam and opposing the heterodoxies prevalent in the time of Mughal Emperor Akbar. Most of the Naqshbandī suborders today, such as the Mujaddidī, Khālidī, Saifī, Tāhirī, Qasimiya and Haqqānī sub-orders, trace their spiritual lineage through Sirhindi. He died in 1624.Sy Scholfield quotes "Faith Practice and Piety: An Excerpt from the Maktūbāt" by Aḥmad Sirhindī (Sufi Peace Mission, 2006), p. 17: "The Great Mujaddid Ahmad Sirhindi was born in the city of Sirhind in East Punjab, India, at midnight on a Friday night, 14th Shawwal 971 hijri / 1564 CE. His full name was Badr al-Din Abu al-Barakat al Faruqi. . . Friday night in the traditional Muslim calendar is Thursday night in the modern western calendar because a Muslim day starts at the previous day's sunset. Halat-i Mashaikh, Tazkirah-i Imam Rabbani both say at midnight."
