Marvin & sons, 1915), pp. 95-96: "This writer's investigations show that Charles William Naundorff who died at Delft, August 10, 1845, was born at Halle upon the Saale, May 3, 1777, and bore the name of Carl Benjamin Werge. In 1810, he went under the name of Carl Ludwig Nauendorff. From 1810 to 1825 he was known as Johann Wilhelm Nauendorff. From 1825 to 1833 he took the name Louis Charles of France, Duke of Normandy." The time of birth is stated in Georges de Manteyer's book, "Les faux Louis XVII: le roman de Naundorff et la vie de Carl Werg" (1926): "Halle sur la Saale, 9 mai 1777. Baptême de Carl-Benjamin Werge, né le samedi 3, à 4 heures du matin, fils de M' Johann-Gottfried Werge."
