Irish noblewoman and diarist well known for her great love for literature and writing, which included many of the current events in seventeenth-century Ireland as well as her own domestic issues (Occasional Meditations).Sy Scholfield cites father's journal quoted in The Lismore papers, Autobiographical notes, remembrances and diaries of Sir Richard Boyle, first and 'great' Earl of Cork, Vol 2, edited by Alexander B. Grosart (Brooklyn House, Blackburn, Lancs., 1856), p. 111: "My seaveneth daughter named Mary Boyle was borne at yoghall on St. Martyns day being the xjth daie of November 1624 and Thursdaie, about three of the clock, in thafternoon, the signe in Aries." St Martin's Day is observed on 11 November which was indeed a Thurday in the 1624 Julian calendar. Wikipedia gives 8 November 1625 in error.
