Prominent Peruvian architect and researcher. In 1915 he joined the National School of Engineers (now National Engineering University), where he obtained the titles of Civil Engineer in 1922 and architect in 1925. Since then he served as architect of public adornment in the Municipality of Lima (1922 -1923). He was engineer of the district council of La Victoria (1928-1930), advisor to the Technical Commission of the fourth centenary of the Spanish founding of Cuzco from November 1933 to July 1934, head of the Department of Urban Studies at the Ministry of Development (1940 -1947), Mayor of Miraflores (1950-1951); member of the National Council of Conservation and Restoration of Historical Monuments (1940-1955), Professor of Art History at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (1942-1944) and History of Peruvian Art and Architecture at the National School of Fine Arts between 1943 and 1951. Through his practice favored the adoption of a neohispánico style such as the Municipal Palace of Lima, and colonial monuments restorations sought authenticity and the Lima Cathedral and the Basilica de la Merced in Lime. For his work deserved gold medals awarded by the municipalities of La Victoria (1929) and Lima (1935 and 1940).
