Erfüllt von dieser Mitteilung, kam die Magd um 12 Uhr zum Mittagessen und erzählte der Köchin, was ihr geschehen war. Da wurde ich um halbzwei Uhr geboren." Translation: In this house I was born on 15 August, the day of the Assumption . . . which fell on a Sunday in 1858; . . . the maid came at 12pm for lunch and told the cook what had happened to her. I was born at half past one.
