Vedic Horoscope for Emerson, Ellen Tucker

American biographer, also noted as the second-born of the four children of philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson and his second wife Lidian. Their elder daughter, she was named for her father's first wife at Lidian's suggestion. She remained unmarried and proved to be a great help to her father in his work. She wrote a biography of her mother, Life of Lidian Jackson Emerson (edited by Dolores Bird Carpenter and published in 1980). A lifelong resident of Concord, Massachusetts, she died on 14 January 1909 at the age of sixty-nine. Two volumes of The Letters of Ellen Tucker Emerson were published in 1982.Sy Scholfield quotes Ellen Tucker Emerson's Life of Lidian Jackson Emerson edited by Delores Bird Carpenter (Michigan State University Press, 1991), pages xxi, 77: "Ellen Tucker Emerson was born on 24 February 1839," "When the baby was born at six the next morning and Father came to see it Mother said 'Her name is Ellen'" (source given as father's journal entry 25 Feb 1839).
