Vedic Horoscope for Drummond, William Henry

Irish-born poet, he moved to Montreal, Canada with his family at age 10. Trained as a physician, he published "'The Habitant and other French-Canadian poems' in November 1897. The collection was well received and he continued to turn out volumes of his poetry. Perhaps his most anthologized work is "The Wreck of the 'Julie Plante'", which he wrote in the late 1870s. In mourning after his son died in September 1904, he wrote "The Last Portage" a result of a dream on Christmas Eve that year. Sy Scholfield calculates a sunrise chart based on a statement about Drummond's birth by his widow, May Harvey Drummond, in her introduction to the book, 'The Great Fight: Poems and Sketches' (Putnam's, 1908), p. 3: 'At sunrise on Holy Thursday, April 13, 1854, in Currawn House, near the village of Mohill, County Leitrim, Ireland, where his father, George Drummond, was then stationed, William Henry Drummond, 'Poet of the Habitant' was born.'
