He was accused and acquitted of stealing personal items belonging to the Princess.Sy Scholfield quotes Burrell's autobiography, "A Royal Duty" (London: Penguin, 2003) pp. 4-5, which states that he was born on the "beautiful sunny Summer's evening" of that date at the Scarsdale Maternity Hospital in Chesterfield, and that his father (who was nearby at a relative's house) was informed at 8 PM that night that he had been born. The "Times" newspaper of that date states the time of sunset (in London) as 9:12 PM.
