Vedic Horoscope for Aubert de Gaspé, Philippe-Joseph
French Canadian writer and seigneur. At the age of seventy-five, he completed a novel entitled, Les Anciens Canadiens (Old-Time Canadians, Quebec, 1863). Almost entirely based on fact, the story illustrates Canadian national tradition, character and manners. At that time, it was perhaps the most popular book ever published in the province of Quebec. In 1866, Aubert de Gaspé published his Mémoires. He died on 29 January 1871.Sy Scholfield cites baptismal/birth record quoted in "A travers les Mémoires de Philippe Aubert de Gaspé" by Pierre Georges Roy (Ducharme, 1943), p. 8: "M. de Gaspé fut baptisé le lendemain de sa naissance, comme en fait foi l'acte de naissance suivant tiré des registres de Notre-Dame de Québec: 'Le trente et un octobre mil sept cent quatre vingt six, par nous curé de Québec, soussigné, a été baptisé Philippe Joseph, né hier au soir, à quatre heures un quart, du légitime mariage de Mr. Philippe Ignace Aubert, Ecuyer ...'"
