Biscay Basque writer, considered along with Juan Antonio Mogel as the father of literature in Vizcaya dialect. He was ordained a Franciscan priest in 1772 and in 1790 asked to be transferred to the convent of the Missionaries of Zarauz. As a missionary he had the opportunity to meet the different dialects of Basque continental or Hegoalde, seized opportunity to write especially in Biscay but also in Gipuzkoa and Navarre.
