Vedic Horoscope for Almada Negreiros, José de
Portuguese multi-media artist and writer. He was born in the colony of Portuguese São Tomé and Príncipe, the son of a Portuguese father, António Lobo de Almada Negreiros, and a Santomean mother, Elvira Freire Sobral. Besides literature and painting, Almada developed ballet choreographies, and worked on tapestry, engraving, murals, caricature, mosaic, azulejo and stained glass. His writing included poetry, plays and essays. He died in Lisbon on 15 June 1970 at age 77.Sy Scholfield quotes various biographies including O futurismo e o teatro: destruição e mundos invertidos em Almada Negreiros e Oswald de Andrade : compilação e análise by Agnaldo Rodrigues (Do Autor, 2002), page 43: "José de Almada Negreiros nasceu em S .
