Indian philosopher, author, social revolutionary, poet, composer, and linguist. Sarkar was the founder of Ananda Marga (the Path of Bliss) in 1955, a spiritual and social organisation that offers instruction in meditation and yoga. He is also known by his spiritual name, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti and known as Baba to his disciples.Sy Scholfield quotes "Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar: Beacon of Hope for Suffering Humanity" by Garda Ghista (AuthorHouse, 2011), p. 1: "Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar was born on May 21st, 1921 in Jamalpur, a small town in the rural part of northern India in the state of Bihar." According to "The Illustrated Weekly of India" Vol. 97, Issue 3 (1976), p. 36: "His official biography released on his 50th birthday by the Anand Marg says he was born at dawn."
